Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

Well, if you've been following my phase tracker over to the right of my blog you'll notice that TIPPIN has been dropped from breeding. I was super sad when I heard that she had been dropped because I was hoping there would be little Tips running around the GDB kennels. TEESHA has also been dropped from breeding and will enter training once she has healed from her spay. I was so hoping that both girls would become breeders and we would have PWAP's first two breeders. Ah well, both are going to be wonderful Guides!

Waiting Sucks! (& Phase Report)

Gosh, I really do hate waiting. Especially when there is a puppy involved. I mean, for all I know I could be welcoming a 6 week old puppy in exactly a month. I really, really want to know if there was a puppy in the kennels for me or if I'll have to wait until summer break. I'm just super excited about everything and just can't wait! I feel so impatient, but it's been almost a week since Quiz left and it would be lovely to know if I'm definitely getting a pup. Anyway, I'm sure I'll know soon. On to the phase report.

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

Our Tippin was dropped from breeding and will be entering harness training as soon as she heals from her spay. Also, our Schroeder was CC'd for the same thing his brother Snyder was; bilateral elbow dysplasia. As far as I know none of the other pups in the litter have been experiencing the limping our two boys have. Schroeder is up at Guide Dogs right now and should have had his surgery yesterday. He'll then complete physical therapy and then come home as his raisers' pet!

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

I know, I know. I said last week that it would be my last phase report post. Well, Halette was taken out of class and put back into training. This isn't an unusual occurrence at all. Sometimes the matches just don't work out and, personally, I'm so glad that it was discovered before Halette went home. It's a much easier fix this way. Here's to you Halette. *smile* You're perfect person will come soon.

I also thought I would give you an update on our pups. Lance was dropped back to phase 7 of training. This is also not an unusual occurrence. Last week I was hoping it was just a mistake but he's in 7 this week as well. My best guess is this; phase 8 is where they do the final blind fold test to see if the pup is "class ready". I'm guessing Sir Lance-a-lot made a little mistake and they put him back a phase to work on it before they tried testing him again. Keep in mind though, that's just my guess. No biggie. Lance is doing just great!!

Danvers is in phase 4 up at the Oregon campus. Go Danvers! He's half way there!

Tippin joined her friends up for training last weekend and is currently being evaluated for a breeder. We haven't heard anything in this past week which means that she's still in breeder evals! She is such a nice puppy and I have such high hopes for her! *grin* First PWAP breeder? I'm thinking so. Since the only puppy that we've had in breeder evals since I've been with PWAP is Royalty (though both Freya and Hilly were on breeder watch as puppies and taken off before entering training) and she was dropped really quickly I thought I would let you all know that Breeder Evals is also known as the Black Hole. Puppies go in and we don't really hear anything about how they are doing unless one of three things happen. The first is that they are CC'd for medical reasons. The second is that they are dropped from Breeding, spayed/nuetered, and put into harness training. And the third is that they become a breeder. We're really hoping for that last one for Tippin.

Finally, Stuart and Teesha are both on this next recall. Teesha will be joining her sister Tippin in San Rafael for breeder evals (I really am hoping that both of these girls become breeders) and Stuart will be joining Danvers in Oregon to start his formal training. The next recall for San Rafael is February 24 and the Oregon recall is March 2. Stuart has to be at the campus is San Rafael by March 1 for transport to Boring but I'm thinking Nancy will drive him up on the weekend of the San Rafael recall.

Go Puppies! Erin is so proud of you!

Phase Report

Wait...what? Where did Halette go!?! Oh yeah, that's right. She went to class! Haha!

That's right people. Halette is in class and due to graduate as a Guide on February 18, 2012. I'm so glad that she's in class and so happy for her raisers!  The litter turns two on March 23 so I'm glad she found her perfect match before then and will be home for her birthday. Go Halette!!

This is my last post of the phase report for a while (until something big happens) since my pups no longer have siblings in formal training. If you want to check how our pups in training are doing look over to the right side of the blog. Our two boys, Lance and Danvers, are doing great.

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

Halette is still there. Hanging out in phase 8. I really hope she graduates soon. Fingers crossed for you Halette!

Also! If you look over to the right you'll notice that our own Little Lance, Sir Lance-a-lot, Wance is in PHASE 8!!!! Way to go LANCE!!!! I can't wait to hear when you're graduating. Though, if you wanted to wait until July I'd be ok with that. I guess you're mommy wouldn't want that thought. Haha! And Danvers has made it to phase 2. So proud of those boys!

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

I know this is a few days late, but I've been quite busy these past few days. Just running around enjoying the last few days of freedom before classes start again on Monday.

I thought I would also give you an up date on puppies in our group. If you look over the right side of the blog you'll see the phase tracker. There you'll see that our little Lance is now in phase 7 of training! Go Sir Lance-a-lot! He's only got one more phase to go before we all start thinking of class dates for him. Then our Danvers travelled all the way to Boring, Oregon to begin his training and is now in phase 1 which means he has passed his medicals! He's one of those puppies that we knew he'd make it if he passed his medicals so we just have to sit back and wait now! Good job LANCE and DANVERS!!!!

Now on to the "T Sisters", Teesha and Tippin. They had an eval on Wednesday and the all mighty Jim proclaimed that they were doing wonderfully and would be ready to go back for training whenever they were recalled. Hooray for Teesha and Tippin!!!! They are both on Breeder watch so we're hoping to get our first breeder out of one of the girls! (Still a little sad that it wasn't Freya, Rocco, or Hilly but I love that my first two babies are guiding and that my last one decided to be a mooch for the rest of her life. *smile*)

That's kind of it for the puppy group back home. I miss all the puppies and all the people a whole lot. I think my missing of them will lessen if Graham decides to let me have a puppy in March.

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

The next graduation date for the San Rafael campus is January 21, 2012. I have a feeling that Halette is probably not going to make it into that one as the students, retrain and newbies, have all received their dogs already. It's a possibility, but not a big one. So, the one after this next one is February 4, 2012. Keeping my fingers crossed for you Halette! *grin* There's a complete list of graduation dates online. If any of you haven't been to a graduation I suggest you go. Even if you didn't raise a puppy it's completely moving.

I've been wanting to post some pictures of Estee's litter, but she and pups haven't gone home to the breeder keepers yet. Yes, they raise the pups at home instead of keeping them and their breeder in the kennels. I have to say...Freya was better at being crated that Rocco was right from the word go. I like to think it was because of all they do with the pups when they're at their home. We also get lots of pictures of puppies. Freya's welcome pack (which includes a small bag of puppy food, a nylon leash, all of the paperwork needed for vets and such, report templates, her big girl collar, and a few other things) also came with a little envelope with a CD of pictures and how to contact Belle's breeder keepers. Inside was a little note telling me how to ID my pup. And thus started the friendship. They even sent me a picture CD of the "E" litter since I had been hoping to snag Epic and my 2nd puppy. Though I wouldn't change my big, handsome boy for anything. *smile* Oh, anyway, I've been wanting to put up some pictures of the cuties, but they don't have them home yet. Skin rashes or something that GDB wanted to keep them at the kennels for. Which is totally understandable, but I'm waiting on pins and needles to see them! I can't imagine how the BKs feel. Haha! Oh, yes, forgot to say. The letter is "G". I believe all the puppies have been named, but I got to throw in a few suggestions! That was a lot of fun and I really hope they used one of my names. I won't be posting the names until all of them have left for their raiser homes. Don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone!

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

Still hanging out in the last phase of training. I can't wait until we hear that she's all ready to graduate.

Also, my brother in visiting so I forgot to post up a wordless Wednesday yesterday. So, here's a picture for all of you guys. *smile* It's definitely something I miss about my Hilly-Bean; her very goofy grin.

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

She's still hanging out! Good Luck Halette! Found out that one of our newest puppies, Hank, has a sister named Hana. Since no puppy can be named a name that is already in use for another puppy in training, breeder, or guide I guess that means that Hilly's sister must have been CC'd. I know she was due to go in for breeder evals so I'm thinking it was for medical reasons. I was a little sad when I found out that the name had been reused, but such is life right? I wonder if they'll reuse Hilly. Haha!

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

Halette's still hanging out there in 8. But, the last class of 2011 on the San Rafael campus (where Halette is) just graduated last Saturday. So, she definitely don't be going into class until the New Year. Here's my fingers crossed for you Halette!

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

The next graduation is this Saturday so I'm hoping that Halette's person will arrive in the next class! Go Halette Go!!!

Lance is still in medicals, but seeing as he's lasted a week I think he's good to go. I'm sure next week's phase report will have a little "1" next to his name. *smile*

Phase Report

 Lance      4Z66     GLD     M    0

Belle puppy EPIC is IN CLASS!!!! and will (fingers crossed) be graduting on the San Rafael campus on December 10, 2011! Hooray! Go Epic! I also heard that they saw 5 to 6 puppies in ESTEE! She was bred with male yellow lab OZZIE. I know her breeder keepers are hoping that that might mean some more yellow puppies, but if she didn't get the yellow gene from Jay or Belle then she'll be having all black labs.

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     F     8

Belle puppy EPIC is also in phase 8 today. Hermes and Hestia both graduated this past Saturday. Hestia is a breeder and her raiser is her new breeder custodian so I'll get to keep up with Hestia! Hermes graduated as a Guide and is now working in Arizona. I hear that his new partner loves him very much! I guess these "H" puppies really now how to cling to their people's hearts. *SMILE*

I can't believe that Halette is the last littermate in training. I also can't believe that I won't have a littermate on the phase reports for a good 3 years. Here's hoping that I can handle puppy raising and social life! Haha!

Phase Report

Hermes     46Y1     LAB     M     In Class!

Halette      45Y4     LAB     F      8

Belle Puppy Epic is also in phase 8 this week! Just two more puppies. Gosh! I can't believe that. I also can't believe that Lance will be on those reports in just a few weeks! Also, the September Breeder's digest is out and guess who the new breeder I looked at is. That's right! Hestia!!!! I'm so excited that two of my puppies littermates have made it as breeders.

That's really all I have to say today. Have an essay to finish up. Wish me luck!

Phase Report

Hermes     46Y1     LAB     M      In Class!!!!

Halette      45Y4     LAB     M      8

Belle puppy EPIC is also in phase 8 this week! I hope that Epic and Halette find their perfect partners soon! I'm very glad that Hermes has!

I'm hoping to start a discussion, but I want to start it tomorrow so that I can really work on how I want to present it. There are three issues on this topic that I wish to bring up so there will be three days of discussion. I'll post the topic I want to discuss today, but please don't post your opinion just yet. Take some time to think about it and what you want to say. Then I'll post the issues and then post what you've thought about. If, at the end of the three days, I don't bring up something you've discussed please post it on the last day and I'll extend the discussion.

Phase Report

Halette     45Y4     LAB     8
Hermes    4Y61     LAB     8
Belle puppy EPIC is also in Phase 8 today! I hope we have some graduations soon!

Now, I realise that this might be cheating a little when it comes to a post a month. So, I'll try and come up with a little something else to post along with the phase report.

Does anyone else out there with CC pups feel a little sad still sometimes? Don't get me wrong, Hilly is absolutely the perfect pet for me and my family. She and Rosie play all day and that helps my parents control Rosie and her poodleness a little more and Hilly has done was Rosie couldn't do. She's made Arwen play. I guess Arwen just needs a dog her size...well her strength to play with. And I'm pleased and punch that I get to say, "That's my dog." But, I do feel a little sad every now and again that she's not in training becoming a Guide. Maybe it's because she's got siblings in training or because she messed up my perfect score (Haha! I'm just kidding about that one). Again, I don't regret adopting her at all. I think she was meant to be mine, but if it weren't for that dog distraction thing, she would have made a great Guide. Ah, well! She gets to be a therapy dog when I get back from University, so that's good!

I'll leave you with a few pictures of Freya enjoying her birthday present I sent.
Freya looking up at the camera with her unopened nylabone at her feet. She seems to be saying "I think she wanted me to chew it, not stare at it."
Freya making a funny face as she chews on it for the first time.
Freya laying down and chewing on her new, giant nylabone.

Phase Report

Hermes     46Y1     LAB     M     8

Halette      45Y4      LAB     F      5

Belle puppy EPIC is still hanging out in 8 for his match.

Wow, I didn't notice how many littermates were actually left. I hope Hermes gets matched with his handler soon. I know that he's on the California campus and that there is a graduation tomorrow, so maybe he'll be matched with the new class coming in.

Also speaking of tomorrow. Tomorrow is when PWAP welcomes its newest member to the group. You still have time to put in some guesses for Mr.S's name!

Hestia     LAB     F     GDB Breeder!

Belle puppy EPIC is in phase 8 this week! Hooray! I'm really excited about Hestia being a breeder. Right after I found out the Reann had made it a breeder I found out that Hestia had also made it as a breeder. Hoping for a Reann or a Hestia or an Estee puppy when I get back! That would be great. You know what would also be great? If they bred one of them to a Golden male. *wink*

Also a big shout out to Snickers who is now back for formal training!

Belle puppy EPIC is in phase 5 this week! YAY!

I also found out that HESTIA has passed her initial breeder evaluations! Now she just has to go on to the next phase. Here's the thing though, this could be anywhere from a week to a month. So Hestia basically goes into a black hole again. But hopefully we'll hear something soon.
