Lazy Day

Yesterday was a lazy day for me and Rocco. I thought that since we had a few really busy days in a row we would just spend the day lounging about the house. Well, it became obvious that neither he nor I could spend the day doing nothing. So we went to Borders and looked around. I found this book called "How Scots Made the Modern World." I really wanted to buy it, but I decided that I really couldn't, but I might just have to go back. Then we sat down in the cafe and I read the book I brought with me. I brought "The White Queen" by Philippa Gregory. She also wrote "The Other Boleyn Girl" and is definitely one of my favourite authors. Anyway, what I was really looking for was a biography or the diary of Queen Victoria. See, I've been a little obsessed ever since I saw "The Young Victoria." If you haven't seen it yet I insist that you get it and watch it as soon as you possibly can. Haha! Every time I watch it I turn into this big puddle because of Prince Albert. Anywho, enough about my being a hopeless romantic.

Last night, after I almost murdered Rocco for peeing on my rug in the living room, we had his outdoor time. It was cool enough...I suppose. Well, it was under 100 out there so he was allowed out. Well, I live on a man-made lake so all of there are a lot of spiders. One thing you must know about me is that I am horribly, almost unreasonably, arachnophobic (I woke up with a giant spider on my face when I was little and ever since then it's been a hate/hate relationship). And when the spiders started to make their webs around my vegetable and herb garden I went a little...homicidally insane I believe is the term. So I took my hose and put it on stream and hit those little devils back to the seedy underground heck from whence they came. Well, I think I upset the Loch Woodward Monster. I always use to tell my friends who were scared of being on the lake at night in our canoe that there was nothing in the lake larger than a large catfish...that was until my brother and his friends caught a 20 lbs catfish. Well, whatever it was last night it was huge and swimming around in circles. I thought it was a hurt fish so I took the canoe out and tried to check on it, but when I got near it went away. I'm not sure it was a fish after all...it looked like those pictures you see of the Loch Ness Monster. Creepy.

  1. Cooooool! I didn't know there was a monster in the lake. I also didn't know we share a hate thing for spiders. I know they do good for man, but let's keep 'em outside, I say.

  2. This thing was huge! I'm thinking it was the catfish that Greg and his friends caught and threw back, but in the dim light it looked like it had ears like you always see the Loch Ness monster in...or had...or whatever. And you've known me for how many years and you didn't know that spiders and I don't get along? Well, I don't suppose it's ever come up.
